Work and Related Experience

The NJ Business & Industry Association (June 05 - present)
Position: Internet Communications Coordinator
I design, format, write and edit CSS/(X)HTML e-mails that market events, publications and seminars to the Association's 22,000 members. In addition, I update, and design as needed, the Association's Web sites, copy-edit outgoing communications, and format print and e-newsletters for both member companies and internal staff.

Freelance Graphic, Web and Print Designer (March 07 - present)
I regularly take on freelance design projects from a variety of clients, recently including the NJ Policy Research Organization (print newsletter and report designs, as well as their Web site design), 360 Entertainment Property Management (with graphics to supplement / promote their forthcoming digital storyboard aimed at generating interest in Bible stories to preteens), and Association Business Solutions (stationary, promotional postcard and newsletter designs).

Siemens Corporate Research (Sept. 04 - Jan. 05)
Position: Web Designer (Temp. Marketing Consultant)
Here I reorganized the, originally, organization-centric Siemens Corporate Research Web site. My primary goal with the project was to modernize the site's look, and reorganize the structure to make it more appealing, as well as easier to navigate, to viewers not necessarily familiar with the company.

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs of NJ (June 04 - Aug. 04)
Position: Assistant Web Designer (Intern)
My responsibilities included maintenance of their Web site, daily page updates as well as interactive PDF document creation. I designed the online edition of Guardlife National Guard magazine, re-authored sites for the US Property and Fiscal Office, Militia Museum of NJ, and the Fiscal/Information and Administrative Services Division to match the homepage design and cleaned up much of the HTML code of the site to be more compliant with W3C standards of accessibility.

Children's Futures (March 04 - Sept. 04)
Position: Web Master (Volunteer)
I co-designed the Children's Futures Web site for a college project in March 2004, but afterwards stayed on with the organization as their Web Master. Responsibilities included a site re-design, frequent page updates and graphic designing.

The Rider News (Sept. 01 - April 05)
Positions: Managing Editor (2003-05), Web Master (2002-05), Features Editor (2001-03)
During my four years with Rider University's student newspaper I managed a staff of editors, writers and photographers publishing a weekly paper, and wrote numerous articles recognized with awards on the University, state and regional levels by such organizations as the Society of Professional Journalists and the NJ Press Association. I designed and maintained the paper's Web site, which itself won several honors, copy-edited stories, and frequently laid out pages for publication. In addition, I often created visually-appealing graphics to accompany stories in print.
